Africa is a continent boasting breathtaking natural beauty, vast mineral riches, abundant arable land and large populations of talented, smart people. Yet, somehow the continent remains eternally afflicted by poverty, crime, pollution, civil war, corruption, disease, drug-addiction, alcoholism and variety of other ills. Economists, political analysts, anthropologists and accredited journalists have tried long and hard to identify the root cause of these afflictions, with documentary after documentary, and U.N. report after U.N. report, investigating potential causes such as “lack of education”, “exploitation by Western countries” and “systemic corruption”, but none of them have been able to figure out why other countries don’t suffer from the same severity of problems despite similar circumstances.
For example, many white countries such as the USA, Germany and Russia have undergone periods of extreme poverty and hardship, with little to no public funding for education and no international initiatives to reduce corruption among their officials, and yet somehow none of these countries degenerated into the abject squalor and chaos found in African countries. Whatever this force is, it’s something located within Africa itself, which wasn’t present in the USA, Germany or Russia during those economic downturns, wars and epidemics. Furthermore, whatever this force is, it must be very, very powerful, because as we witnessed in Japan, even after having two nuclear bombs dropped on it, a country is typically resilient, and can rebuild itself to incredible standards of modernity within no less than a decade or two. The fact that Japan and Europe have been able to recover from cataclysmic wars and natural disasters so quickly, while Africa seems unable to even get off the ground despite not only non-disastrous, but in many cases highly advantageous circumstances, such as receiving an entire first world country on a silver platter in the case of South Africa, is very perplexing, and speaks to the power of this destructive force.
Another key aspect of this force, whatever it is, is that it targets the people of Africa themselves, regardless of where they are. In many cases, Africans have moved or have been moved, overseas, to places like Detroit, Compton, Haiti and Jamaica. Not only are these places troubled, but remarkably, they actually resemble Africa itself, with many or all of the same problems afflicting Africa, afflicting them too! Somehow, this sinister force is following Africans wherever they go, and causing the same problems for them no matter where they are in the world.
The other incredible thing about this force is that it appears to be multi-generational, and has some mysterious way of transferring from parent to child. If you look at the areas occupied by Africans for long periods of time, you can see that the problems they face persist from generation to generation. Somehow this force is hopping from one generation to the next through some unknown, hidden mechanism.
Whatever this force is, we must identify it and put a stop to it immediately, before it causes more pain and suffering. We must introduce more education initiatives, foreign aid programs and Live Aid concerts until it goes away. No cost should be spared in eliminating this force, and no amount of energy should be spared in the fight to make Africa a peaceful and prosperous continent. This isn’t just about Africa, it’s about humanity. Africa’s problems are our problems, and who knows, maybe the same force afflicting Africa will one day afflict us too, if for example it was allowed to flow across our borders and spread and transmute itself within our countries. This is why we must have compassion and make it a priority to get to the bottom of this issue as soon as possible.
The mysterious force described in this thought-provoking article is called the EQUATOR. Africa is the only continent in the world which straddles the equator, with about half its land mass above, and half below. I rest my case.

The fact that we as a global society have not invested more money in Africa is one of the greatest travesties in the history of human civilization.
Did you know that many millions of African communities depend on burning wood for warmth, cooking, and water purification? The CO2 coming from those fires is suffocating the planet and causing massive Atlantic hurricanes that destroy the very country (USA) that continues to negligently send only paltry billions of aid to Africa.
