Did you know that every year, millions of people across the world, including womyn, children and ethnic minorities, are raped, murdered and assaulted? Just in Chicago alone, over fifty seven people were shot over just one weekend, and in Baltimore, fourteen people were killed in just a single day, virtually all of them African Americans. Violence is an absolute EPIDEMIC, and we simply cannot turn a blind eye to it any longer! It’s time to finally take a stand AGAINST violence, and to declare once and for all that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
The epidemic of violence has gone on largely unnoticed for so long that it has gotten out of control. If people continue to turn a blind eye to violence, then there’s no telling how bad it will get, so it’s up to all of us to put our feet down and let the world know how we feel about violence, and that it is simply unacceptable in the 21st Century!
This is why the Accredited Times is organizing a world-wide march against violence, with the purpose of raising awareness about the violence epidemic, and the need to do something about it! The violence cannot go on any longer – something absolutely MUST be done! We can’t go on with innocent womyn fearing for their safety in their own neighborhoods, children of color fearing for their lives in their own homes, and LGBTQ+ communities in Africa living in a state of constant fear! We NEED to take a stand NOW before more people are affected! We need to speak LOUDLY and make our voices heard before more people are killed!
So let’s all cry together – we MUST stop the violence NOW! NO MORE VIOLENCE! NO MORE RAPE! NO MORE! NO MORE!!!

Agreed. Boomers were big supporters of the Live 8 concerts, which convinced Western governments to write off large amounts of debt owed by various African dictatorships. Some would argue that the astronomical rise in the populations of third world countries is precisely because these countries have already received huge amounts of economic value in the form of new technologies, aid money and economic opportunities, and that the result has simply been an increase in population, not a significant decrease in poverty, corruption or societal dysfunction. But that isn’t going to stop us from continuing to strive to “solve poverty” by giving endless charity to the third world.

I’m so in agreement with this. That said, we need to be careful not to label as violence, and condemn certain acts in diversity-enriched communities that stem from cultural differences. Although my white privilege might at first cause me to feel revulsion for such acts (e.g. beheadings, gang knifings, driving at people on pavements etc.) who am I to criticise behaviours that are simply part and parcel of city life in such communities?
