Nigel Farage: The Face Of Fascism

“History never repeats itself but it rhymes” – Lewis LatimeR

As Britain prepares to vote tomorrow in the European Elections – arguably the most important vote of our times – we have to ask the question: are we witnessing Latimer’s famous dictum being played out right in front of our eyes? First, let’s review the history before comparing with events happening now.

On 5 March 1933, federal elections were held in Germany.  Despite having waged a campaign of terror against their opponents, the Nazis won only approximately 40% (43.9% to be precise) of the popular vote. Despite not achieving a majority (he received 17.3 million votes), Hitler managed to obtain the support of all non-Socialist parties for his Enabler Act of 29 March 1933.  This bill passed, giving Hitler dictatorial powers. We know only too well the events that ensued…

Fast forward 83 years and now consider the outcome of the EU referendum in which around 75% of the British people took part. As we know, 52% of the votes (17.4 million votes) were cast by so-called ‘leavers’, cheered on by the-then leader of the populist UKIP party, Nigel Farage. Of course, ‘leavers’ is a polite term, a euphemism if you will for people who at their very rotten core are racist, Islamophobic, homophobic, and whose souls are the color of coal.  Back to the math: mulitipling 52% by 75% means that approximately 40% (39% to be precise) of eligible voters in Britain consciously chose fascism, spurred on by the populist Farage, who promised to make the trains run on time. Again, however, 40% is far short of a majority.

The coiincidences here are as striking as they are horrifying. Let’s recap: there were almost the exact same number of votes cast for Hitler as for Brexit (17.3 million v 17.4 million respectively) and the same overall percentage vote (approximately 40% in both cases).

Unfortunately, the similarities between 1933 and Current Year do not end there.

Before becoming the führer, Hitler had long entertained hopes of making a living through selling simple watercolor paintings. Alas, Hitler lacked true artistic talent and his paintings simply failed to sell, something he would blame on conniving Jews in his book Mein Kampf (eng ‘my struggle’)

If only Adolf had stuck to painting

Now let’s turn back to Farage who, as leader of the Brexit Party, is now seeking the power to remove forever the cherished freedoms the British public still enjoy as citizens of the EU. Although Farage doesn’t even have the minor artistic talent Hitler had, he has enjoyed the same failure in art! As the Guardian gleefully reported, in August 2018, a portrait of Nigel Farage failed to attract any buyers in an important art fair.

The unwanted Farage portrait was part of the Royal Academy of Arts’ 250th summer exhibition

In a nutshell then, Hitler’s art from almost exactly 100 years ago failed to sell. Today, Farage-inspired art also has failed to sell. Also, just like the title of Hitler’s book (my struggle), in recent days, Farage has also used the word ‘struggle’ when referring to his efforts to impose Brexit on an unwilling British public.  It is as though Hitler and Farage are singing from the same hymn book.

Putting all these omens together, it is difficult to see how we will avoid fascism and a new world war.

Fortunately, there is still time. The British public must read and take to heart the famous Lewis Latimer quote above; they must recognise that Farage IS the face of fascism, the new Hitler in other words.  They must then be brave and vote for one of the mainstream parties.  Only then will democracy be preserved in Britain.

  • I WAS thinking that the microphone was strategically placed to suggest a Hitler Mustache.

  • The parallels between Farage and Hitler are obvious. Both are liars, both are extremists, both are racists, and both have an obsession with "nation" and "their people". If you think about it, nationalism basically IS racism and fascism - we are living in the age of globalism now, and borders and nations are a thing of the past. It's time to forget about "nations", "history", "heritage" and all of these boring old dusty ideas, and embrace a new world based on "tolerance", "diversity", "hope" and "change". Doesn't that just sound far more exciting? Why else would we call it progress if it weren't better than what we had before?

  • You sure plucked plagiarist Latimer out of obscurity. Shouldn’t you be scenting fire hydrants instead of attacking the people’s choice?

  • History is always written by the victors. Hitler lost WW2 and got very bad press. The figure of 6 million pictures he supposedly painted is way out of all proportion. He painted a lot of houses because that was his trade. He was a house painter.

  • There you go again, mocking the great leaders!

If I ever get a third term, you boomers won't even know what hit you. First thing I will do is put all the coders back to work on Sky Wars III. That should fix Putin and Xi Jinpin. Then I will secure my place in history by having Hitler paint the White House. For some reason fascist leaders can't paint people, so I will do my own self-portrait which will be much better than Farage's pathetic attempt.

    Ronny for President!
